• Ovulation occurs approximately 14 days after onset of menstrual bleeding.
• If this continues over time, if a bleeding in external genitalia is mistaken for menstrual bleeding or menstrual cycle is shorter than a common 28 days, the possibility of error in the calculations, and thus have no intercourse protected close to ovulation and pregnancy.
